Ultrasonic frequencies are frequencies that lay above the audible range (above 20 kHz). In liquids the ultrasonic frequency causes microscopic vacuum bubbles, that implode and thereby generate forceful pressure shocks. Those forces cause the emerge of micro shock-waves and micro-flows. These temporarily cause streams with speeds up to 400 km/h. This physical phenomenon is called cavitation. The cavitation causes a mild and intensive lavation of every spot that is reachable for the ultrasonic cleaner. A more effective lavation can be reached with solvents that are especially developed for ultrasonic cleaners. Thus the objects are cleaned by the ultrasonic frequency without causing any damage or hint of the lavation proccess. Since the ultrasonic sound alone is often not enough to be effective, an optimized result can be achieved by combining it with the right cleaning agent, temperature and cleaning time.
