Belt Force Gauge PCE-BTM 2000
Portable belt force gauge for measurements of gear belt tension on automotive motors / large measuring range up to 900 Hz / memory of 750 measured values

The belt force gauge is an optical measuring device for determining the belt tension. The belt force gauge has a display and a sensor on a gooseneck. The belt force gauge measures the tension of a belt at rest. A small impulse with the help of a mallet is enough to make the belt vibrate. The belt force gauge measures the natural frequency of the belt with a sensor beam and visualizes it on the display. Also, the belt force gauge can directly determine the tension force of the belt from the measured data and the entered belt length and belt mass. It is not mandatory to enter these data in order to carry out measurements directly with the belt force gauge. The belt force gauge has switchable measuring units. You can select N (SI unit) or pound-force (US unit). The graphic display of our belt force gauge displays the measured value in Hz. When the belt mass is entered, the span force is also displayed in Newton. 6 selectable languages, a high-contrast display and intuitive graphic menu are only some of the benefits of our belt force gauge. Up to 750 data sets can be saved on the memory for further analysis and quality assurance. The memory has 15 folders for 50 measured values each.

The belt force gauge is ready for use direct upon receipt. The delivery includes the display unit, the standard gooseneck sensor, a magnetic holder, batteries and manual. Optional accessories for the belt tension meter include an instrument case, frequency mallet, tripod and a sensor with spiral cable and a longer gooseneck (for belts that are difficult to reach).

Why measure the belt force
Belt measurements are necessary  whenever optimum maintenance of machines and systems is important. A belt drive only achieves its maximum service life if it is tailored to its specific application. This means that the belt is optimally tensioned and the pulleys are precisely aligned. With the help of the belt force gauge, the tension force (trum force) can be determined exactly when the belt is standing still.
