PCE-D (Shore D) hardness tester
mechanical device for measuring the hardness of hard rubber and hard thermal plastic

The PCE-D hardness tester is a standard model for measuring the hardness of rubber (Shore D). The device is composed of a measurement unit with sensor and a 360° measurement dial accurate to readings of 0.5 hardness units. Meets the DIN 53505, ISO 868, ISO 7619 and ASTM D 2240 standards. The hardness tester comes calibrated and ISO certified. The device can be recalibrated at any time with an ISO calibration certificate included (at additional cost).
Optional accessories offered for the PCE-D are a test position and a test control device to test the accuracy of the device on the job. You will always obtain the best results when measuring the hardness of rubber both in accuracy and repeatability especially when doing random testing for product control when combined with the test position.

At the following link you will find an explanation of the process for measuring hardness. You will also see a classification of the different grades of hardness if you click here.

  - Models with or without pulling needle
  - Large dial
  - Read in hardness units
  - 360° dial
  - Highly accurate
  - Ergonomic design
  - Meets all standards
  - Used for isolated measurements or in series
(for series measurements the optional test
     position is required)
  - Comes calibrated and ISO certified
  - Includes a protective cover

Optional accessories
- Control test

Using the type-D test control shows if the hardness tester will operate within a specified tolerance. These tests are used in production as well as reasearch and development. In the box you will find seven tests.  The tests are identified by a series of numbers to ensure that they are not misidentified. The range of hardness of type-A is 30 to 90. The tests serve as a reference check of the optimal state of operation of the hardness tester.

The hardness tester must never be recalibrated during the control tests.

Dimensions: approx. 54 x 54 x 8mm (test).

PCE-D (Shore D) hardness tester: seven distinct control tests

- Test position

The test position of the OS-2 hardness tester has been deisgned to test in series, to obtain the most accurate results. Errors produced by subjective measurements affected by an erroneous force of measurement or by a non-vertical measurement can be excluded.

The test is done on a test table and the hardness tester goes down with a constant test force - with the help of a lever. The result is shown on the hardness tester itself. The device is made of aluminium. It can adjusted to measure components of different makes.

test position for the PCE-D hardness tester
- Load weight for the test position (275g, stainless steel, DIN 53505).
- 20 Shore adjustable disk, to adjust the parallel plain of the hardness tester position.
- Dust protector.

- Calibration certificate

The PCE-D hardness tester comes calibrated from the factory and includes an ISO calibration certificate

Over time and with general use of the device, deviations in results can be produced. We can perform a laboratory recalibration at anytime as well as an ISO certification.
