PCE-PA 6000 power
analyser
power
analyser with RS-232 interface and software to
analyse power consumption
|
The PCE-PA 6000 power analyser
is a tabletop device for measuring effective power, apparent
power, power factor, energy consumption, current, continuous
voltage, resistance and frequency. The power analyser also offers the possibility to connect industrial
current converters with a transmission relation of 100/5A or 1000/5A.
Its large 93 x 52mm LCD is easy to read and provides a
variety of results, including Watts, cos φ, ACV and ACA.
With the optional PCE-PA ADP current adaptor with ground
wire (up to 16ACA)
it can safely and quickly measure and
analyse with the help of the power analyser. Measurement of
current and power can be done directly with test cables that
come with the device or indirectly using the clamps. The device has
an RS-232 interface, and software to analyse results and
transfer data to a computer. This makes it the ideal device
for any workshop or for measuring power to determine faults
in devices. This

analyser we have available to suit your needs.

Examples of use |
|
In the following
image there is a
PCE-PA 6000
being used to repair a computer. Using
the current adaptor, it can quickly take
measure-ments of consumption and measurements of
power without the need to use too many cables. |
 |
|
 |
Here is an image of the power analyser's
large LCD that can show four different
readings simultaneously. The display mode
depends on the function setting.
It can also show readings taken by the
current adaptor. It just needs to be
connected to the device with the gounding
wire of the adaptor.
|
|
In this instance, the device is being used
to test the thermal value of an electronic
thermal ventilator once repaired with our PCE-PA 6000
power analyser. The usefulness of the
current adaptor can be appreciated here, and
it is easy to attach safely without the mess
of external cables. With the power analyser,
tests can be done easily, safely and
accurately an all types of small electrical
appliances up to 16A, including high
consumer electronics.

The measurement principle for power

Current, voltage and power in sine waves |
Definitions:
When measuring power in continuous voltage
lines, power is easily calculated using the
formula P=U
* I, with "U" being the product of
electrical energy and "I" being the
electrical current. If it gives a phase
angle between current and voltage in
alternate currents (alternate voltage of
50Hz), should be taken into account at the
time of measuring effective power.
The power analyser shows a running line and
of voltage to measure the electrical
capacity in combined form. The parameter
shown as "P" (effective power) corresponds
to the product of both magnitudes shown
previously.
In practice there are 3 different types of
power:
-Apparent power S measured in VA
-Effective power (and continuous
power) P measured in W (Watt)
-Reactive power Q measured in VAR (Volt-Ampere-Reactive) |
