Hand moisture meter for soil and ground, wilting point / water penetration, RS-232 data interface and English-language programming software

The soil moisture meter TDR-100 is an easy to use and accurately measuring meter to determine the moisture of soil. This, the soil moisture meter gives to the actual moisture content in% absolute, and the wilting point and the degree of saturation of the soil / earth. Why should you use this soil moisture meter? In addition to the solid parts of soil there is also air that can be measured. The percentage varies depending on soil type. Coarse-grained soils, less air (40 vol%) as fine-grained soils include (up to 60 vol%). Is the proportion of air at the bottom is higher, the soil density is lower and the air can be replaced by water. If this condition is reached, it is called a saturated soil. Under usual conditions, the soil is not able to hold all the water it seeps. The state in which the soil can hold water is called field capacity (FK in vol%). Light soils are able to bind the water not as good and the field capacity is well below the soil saturation. Against the binding force of the soil, the plants absorb the water of their roots for water evaporation from the soil. The water potential of plants is limited and can not be taken from all the water from the soil. The state, up to which the plants draw water is referred to as wilting point (WP in vol%). The plant can thus use water only between the states of wilting point and field capacity. Please note: The soil-moisture sensor works only in combination with the probe tuned to the particular soil. These probes, we offer separately in three lengths under "Additional equipment". Therefore it is necessary o order at least one sensor according to your demand. Software
With the included software, the soil moisture meter can be programmed exactly for your needs. The length of soil moisture probes, the desired units for the display of water deficits or limits for internal measurements of parameters can be entered. The software can be installed on a PC or Laptop. Connect the soil moisture meter with a PC and transmit the adjustments to the device.
