In our web page you will find balances for carat to weigh both carats and jewellery. Weighing units can be choosen in our balances for carat (grams or carats) only in some models. Why are balances for carat necessary? How is the gold in teeth calculated? The ammount of gold establishes the relation between gold and other materials in a metal. It is calculated by means of a division in 24 parts. So, one carat of gold has 1/24 parts of gold (= 4,166 %). Gold with 24 carats is considered to be the pure gold however it is very difficult to eliminate all the impurities to get 100% gold so 24 carats are equal to 99,9% gold. To meet with DIN ISO standard, all balances for carat can be DKD certified (this certification must be carried out in situ, that is in the site where blances for carat are placed). Besides, some of our balances for carat can also be verified (with an increase of the price) to be delivered in your company. Balances for carat can also be verified in your local authorised verification centre.
