PCE-SH
series force meter
measures traction and compression, with external dynamometric
cell and 2.5m cable (3
models available)
The PCE-SH series force
meter is highly accurate and has a maximum force measurement
of up to 50,000 N (according to model).
This allows for easy measurement of pressure or traction force.
This force meter has an external dynamometric cell with a 2.5m
cable and has been designed to test breaks and tears. It
is not neccesary to use other measurement cells, as with the
combined "Z" cell most form of traction can
be measured. The following link shows a
force meter that has an internal measurement cell for
smaller loads: ModelFM.
Measures Newton[N],
tons
[t] and pounds [lb] with high
resolution.

PCE-SH
series force meter
The backlit display is easy to read, and aside from showing
measurement results, also shows battery level, average value,
maximum value and the corresponding memory location. There
is also an arrow to indicate the direction of force.
Above the
display are three LED's
that show if any maximum or overload limits have been reached.
The device will also beep to indicate that limits have been
exceeded.
A zero reset can be performed when required using the PEAK
button. The backlit display function can be turned on at the
press of a button. The SET key
alllows maximum and overload limits to be programmed into
the device.
The photo to the right shows the device with an external
dynamometric cell adapted for traction / pressure. The 2.5m
connecting cable allows the cell to be attached to a machine
or installation, or adpated to a test position if you wish
to decentralise the measurement in a digital unit. If
required, a 5m or 10m long cable can be used. Call us and we
can assist you with this request or any other issue you may
have. The device should be adjusted with the dynamometric
cell and cable attached, as though it were a single unit.
A DIN ISO calibration can be ordered from us (laboratory
calibration with certificate) when you order the device or
as an annual recalibration.
The corresponding bolts for each model of
dynamometric cell fasten easily to the cell.
Remember to use the nut and bolt that come
with the device and not to combine those
from other devices Ensure they are not over
tightened as this will damage the device.
The standard dynamometric cell
(form
S/Z)
which comes with the device, can be fixed to
an installation
(an illustration showing the
mounting holes, can be seen lower down this
page), they can be
screwed on for a traction test.

Test Position
The force meter can be combined with any of the three test
positions we have available.
Two test positions are equipped with a crank and one the
third has a motor.
The effective use of the test position is in daily testing
of materials in a laboratory and you wish to maintain the
same conditions, eliminating the possibility of human error.
The technical specifications for the different positions are
available at this link:
Test Positions.
Descriptions of test positions can be found within the
corresponding on-line category:
