PCE-IT 55 Insulation Tester
CAT III 1000V / for insulation resistance up to 2000 MΩ

The PCE-IT 55 Insulation Tester determines insulation resistance up to a maximum of 2000 MΩ (for auxiliary voltages of 250, 500 and 1000V). This Insulation Tester also offers the ability to measure alternate and continuous currents up to a maximum 750V / 1000V and resistance up to 2 kΩ. Includes test current and a warning whistle. Readings can be stored by pressing a single key. The device meets with these standards: DIN 57 411 part 1 / VDE 0411 part 1, protective measures for electronic devices (IEC1010-1) and DIN VDE 0413 (Insulation Tester). It comes calibrated from the manufacturer and an optional laboratory calibration and ISO certificate can be ordered separately for annual recalibrations. Information about Insulation Tester
The measurement of insulation should be done for new installations, upgrades, changes or repairs. It is also necessary to repeat measurements at pre-determined times for industrial machinery. In the provate sector, it is important to periodically check the condition of installations, in case the insulation value deteriorates due to aging, climactic conditions or general wear and tear.

• for new installations (dry spaces): 1000 Ω x V of the operating voltage (eg. 230V > 230kΩ)
• for new installations (humid spaces, open air): 500 Ω x V of the operating voltage
• grounded device: 1000 Ω x V of operating voltage
• device with insulation protector: 2 MΩ
• electrical tools: 2 MΩ
• low voltage: 250 kΩ
• electrical meters: 5 MΩ

The values of test voltages are usually 100V for installations with low voltages and telecommunication installations, 500V for installations in buildings and houses and 1000V for low voltage engines and transformers.
