PCE-UV36 UVC radiation meter for measuring UVC radiation with external sensor
|
The PCE-UV36 radiation meter is used for measuring UVC radiation in the UV spectrum of 254 nm. Frequently, UVC radiation is used in wave lengths of 200 up to 300nm for disinfecting and sterilising. This is absorbed by DNA and destroys its structure and inactivates the living cells. Micro organisms, such as viruses and bacteria, and destroyed by UVC radiation in a matter of seconds. For this special source of light, low and medum pressure lights are required that emit radiation at a wave length of 254nm. The following link shows an overview of other types of radiation meters.
|
- Wide measurement range - External sensor with UV correcting filter - Auto shut-off after 10 minutes of inactivity - Large LCD - Minimum and maximum memory function - RS-232 interface - Carrying case included - optional ISO calibration with certificate

Composition of solar radiation |
- UVA radiation (315nm - 380nm) - UVB radiation (280nm - 315nm) - UVC radiation (100nm - 280nm) - visible light (wave langth of 380nm - 780nm) and - the part visible to the human eye, infrared heat radiation (wave length of 780nm - 1nm) and ultraviolet radiation (100nm - 380nm).
The shorter the wave length of ultraviolet radiation the more energy it contains and it results in being more dangerous for both skin and eyes. The UVA radiation causes skin to tan but too much UVA and UVB radiation can result in damage to skin and eyes.
