Crane Balances

The smallest of our crane balances have a weighing range up to 20 kg and a bright display which can be clearly read from a relatively far distance. TK-x series crane balances have a weighing range up to 20 t. Due to their infrared remote control, crane balances can be used under harsh conditions (only some models). Crane balances have a safety factor of 4. Maximum safety overload protection: 400% in all the weighing ranges (some models have an overload safety factor of  5/500%). Spare units like line charger and accumulators are available in all our crane balances. Crane balances can have ISO calibration certificates. Calibration includes a laboratory calibration certificate (with the customer's details). Here, you can see more information about our crane balances with a weighing range from 100 kg to 20,000 kg. It is often recommended to use the crane balances during loading on the loading ramp, the weight of the load can be read directly. However, they are also commonly used in the production field of paper and plastics manufactury, for instance, to elevate a tambour to get its weight and then to calculate the length of the product on the roll. In the pictures above you can see crane balances in a galvanized installation. Crane balances must be verified when they are used to determine the price of a product according to its weight. Verification of crane balances (only for those which can be verified) can be performed by the local authorized verification or by the PCE Instruments company. Once an official verification has been done the crane balances cannot be recalibrated by using an external calibration weight. The first verification is valid for two years, but each following validation is good for one year and must be done annually. We recommend to those companies that wish to make an internal quality control to their crane balances to recalibrate them annually or to require an ISO calibration certificate. If you wish to obtain more information regarding the verification of crane balances or if you need balances to be verified, contact your local authorized verification centre. You can also consult one of our engineers or technicians if you have any questions. According to the ISO 9,000 standard, certificates consist on a laboratory calibration and a certificate with the results of the testing. The name of the company or the details about the person who orders the scales will appear in the certificate.
