Instrumental Analytics

On this page, you will find information and products all about instrumental analytics. Because of the speedy developments in the field of instrumental analytics, which have generated a multiple number of measuring principals and analysis techniques, it has become one of the most vital components of many enterprises and companies. The instrumental analytics, as a subarea of analytical chemistry, concerns itself with the identification and analysis of unknown substances. For this purpose, different groups of techniques have been developed (electro-analytics methods, spectroscopy techniques, optical analytic techniques and chromatographic techniques). These methods differ from each other fundamentally. This affects both, the application fields and the testing procedures. In order to cover the great range of the instrumental analytics, a multitude of diverse measuring instruments has been developed. You will soon find an assortment of these instruments on this website. If you have further questions concerning the special field of “instrumental analytics”, please take a look at the following technical data or use our contact form or call us: UK customers +44(0) 23 809 870 30 / US customers (561) 320-9162. Our technical staff will advise you regarding our products. Our engineers and technicians will be happy to help you with the chromatography equipment, and of course, with the other products in the field of regulation and control, measuring instruments or scales and balances of PCE Instruments Ltd.

Explanation of the diverse analytics techniques:

Electro analytic methods: “Electroanalysis” includes different and in part very complex analytics techniques. Conductometry is one of these techniques. At this juncture, the electrical conductivity of a liquid (an assay) is used for the analysis of its ingredients and their concentration.

Spectroscopy techniques:
Spectroscopy relies on the segmentation of the radiation of an assay following its energy. These optical spectra can be examined with the aid of a spectroscope. In spectroscopy, a multiplicity of procedures comes into operation. These can be divided into four main groups: solid state spectroscopy, laser spectroscopy, atomic spectroscopy and molecular spectroscopy.

Optical analytics technique:
Within this technique, the assays are radiographed with light or electromagnetic radiation. In this process, the radiation, respectively the light, is partly reflected or diffracted. These deviations can be measured with the help of a refractometer.

Chromatographic methods:
Chromatography describes a chemical process in which a mixture of substances is separated into a stationary and a mobile phase, which is possible due to the different distributions of its individual components. The stationary phase, depending on the procedure, consists of a solid or a liquid and the mobile phase consists of a gas or a liquid. For further information see our web page “chromatography”.
