GSM Scales (Grams per square scales)

GSM scales (Grams per square scales) are scales to measure the grammage of papers, pasteboards and cardboards in grams per square. Because of their high resolution GSM scales are classified as precision scales. The sample of the material is 100 cm. The form of the sampleGSM Scales. is a circle or a square. If you want to have useable results with our GSM scales, you should buy a cutter for the samples. Therefore the samples should have a temperature of 23C and 50 percent of humidity (DIN EN ISO 536). In our assortment you can find digital and mechanical GSM scales, which read the results in gram per square directly. There are three kinds of GSM scales:
Our mechanical GSM scales have a grammage until 900 grams per square. Our digital GSM scales have a display which shows the grammage in grams per square or grams. That is how you can use the mechanical grammage to a fast determination of the weights of papers pasteboards and cardboards or you use the digital GSM scales as a handyman in labor. There you can measure the grammage of papers or tiles. These GSM scales are supplied with two stencils (to a perfect tear out if you have a small paper). If you can't find the GSM scales you are looking for, please contact us and we will help you find the best solution which suits your needs: UK customers +44(0) 23 809 870 30 / US customers (561) 320-9162. Our technical staff will advise you regarding our products. Our engineers and technicians will be happy to help you with GSM scales, and of course, with the other products in the field of regulation and control, and measuring instruments.

The GSM scales can measure the grammage of materials like flees, textiles, rubber, felt etc. The PCE-DMS 200 GSM scales and PCE-LSZ 200C GSM scales show you the weight in grams per square directly. Provided that you put the sample with exact 100cm on the GSM scales. Next to the time saving it is guaranteed that you put every time the same weight (100 cm) on the GSM scales. GSM scales for professionals in paper production or for processing are perfectly suited.

(*) Information on calibration-capable KERN scales
The KERN scales which are marked with a star, are KERN scales which are calibration-capable. Calibration-capable KERN scales are not yet calibrated, but provide the properties which are necessary to calibrate them. It is therefore necessary to keep in mind that if a scale is purchased without calibration, it cannot be calibrated afterwards. Since calibration is another matter of expense, it is useful to consider if the KERN scales shall be applied for verified purposes or not. If calibration-capable KERN scales are delivered calibrated, all legal conditions are complied. Therefore, a re-calibration can be performed without a problem.
