PCE-O (Shore O) Hardness Tester
M
echanical Shore O hardness tester device for measuring the hardness of soft elastic and textiles

The PCE-O hardness tester is a standard device for measuring soft elastomeric and textile fabrics (Shore O). The hardness tester consists of a measuring device with sensor and 360° anti-glare dial with reading accuracy of 0.5 hardness units. It meets ASTM D 2240 standard. The hardness tester comes calibrated with an ISO calibration certificate. The device can be recalibrated by a laboratory anytime  and for an extra price it will be provided with ISO certificate. As an optional component for the PCE-O we offer a test position and test control equipment to check the accuracy of the hardness tester on site. You will always obtain accurate results with a high rate of repeatability if you use this device either for random testing with the test position or for control tests. At the following link you will find an explanation of the process for measuring hardness. You will also see a classification of the different grades of hardness if you click here. This link shows a general overview of our hardness testers for a wide range of materials (metals, plastics, rubber, elastic, textiles).

  - Models with or without pulling needle
  - Large dial
  - Readings in hardness units
  - 360° dial
  - Highly accurate
  - Ergonomic design
  - Meets all standards
  - Used for isolated measurements or in series (for
series measurements the optional test position
    is required)
  - Comes calibrated and ISO certified
  - Includes a protective cover

Optional accessories
- Control test

Using the type-D test control shows if the hardness tester will operate within a specified tolerance. These tests are used in production as well as research and development. In the box you will find seven tests. The tests are identified by a series of numbers to ensure that they are not misidentified. The range of hardness of type-A is from 30 to 90. The tests serve as a reference check of the optimal state of operation of the hardness tester.

The hardness tester must never be recalibrated during the control tests.

Dimensions: approx. 54 x 54 x 8 mm (test).

- Test position

The test position of the OS-2 hardness tester is designed to test in series in order to obtain the most accurate results. Subjective measurement error caused by wrong scheme contact pressure or non-vertical measurement are excluded.

The test is done on a test table and the hardness tester goes down with a constant test force - with the help of a lever. The result is shown on the hardness tester itself. The device is made of aluminum. An adjustment allows the óxamination of large and small parts.

PCE-O (Shore O) hardness tester: test position
- Load weight for the test position (275 g, stainless steel, DIN 53505)
- 20 Shore adjustable disk, to adjust the parallel plain of the hardness tester position
- Dust protector

- Calibration certificate

The PCE-D hardness tester comes calibrated from the factory and includes an ISO calibration certificate. After some time of being in use, deviations in results can appear. We can perform anytime a laboratory recalibration as well as ISO certification. You will find more information about certifications at the FMPA.
