Surface Balances

Mechanical and digital surface balances for professionals to obtain the weight of sheet of paper in g/m² are available on our site. There are two models of surface balances:
       - Mechanical surface balances with weight range up to 900 g/m².
       - Digital surface balances with weight indicator in m² or in g
Mechanical surface balances are used to quickly determine the weight of paper, cartons or boxes. On the contrary, digital surface balances can be used for all kinds of laboratory tasks, for instance, to determine the weight of paper, floor, tiles or fabrics in grams per square meter. Surface balances are able to determine the weight of diverse materials such as fabric, gum, leather, felt, tiles, etc ... Both PCE-DMS 200 and PCE-LSZ 200C series surface balances show the weight in grams in relation to a square meter of the material. In order to place the exact amount of 100 cm² on our paper balances we recommend to use sample cutters for getting reproducible results. Sample cutters help you save time as well as they guarantee the homogeneous size of samples (100 cm²).

Surface balances are commonly used in the production for the quick control of grammage of both paper and fabric machines. They are also used for further accurate tests as well as reference meters for online systems. Printers and manufacturers use surface balances to check the export of goods. If you wish to obtain accurate results, we recommend you to use the cutter for round samples with our surface balances. Sample cutters help you save time as well as they guarantee the homogeneous size of samples (100 cm²) when placed on the surface balances.
