PCE-IT181 insulation meter
(for telecommunications, wth three test
voltages: 50, 125 or 250V DC)

The PCE-IT181 insulation meter has been
designed specifically for use in telecommunications. The voltage
meter with combined insulation meter has a linear coloured scale up
to 600V AC.
The insulation meter meets with security standard IEC-1010-1, CAT III.

Measurements of
insulation can be done for whichever new, repaired or replaced
installation. Furthermore, it is a requirement that measurments
are repeated in spaces where industrial installations are kept
for a prolonged period of time. Due to deterioration as a result
of aging, damage and the influence of climatic factors. |
Insulation measurement limits to be
observed
- in new installations (dry spaces): 1000 Ω x V
of operating voltage
(for example at 230V > 230 kΩ)
- in new instalations (humid spaces,
open air): 500 Ω x V of operating
voltage
- grounded devices: 1000
Ω x V of operating voltage
- device with insulation protector:
2 MΩ
- electrical tools: 2 MΩ
- low voltage: 250 kΩ
- electrical meters: 5 MΩ
Test voltage values are usually 100V
for low voltage installations, 500V for installations in houses or
buildings and 1000V for low voltage motors and transformers. |
