Air Velocity Meters
Here you will find air velocity meters to measure air velocity and air pressure. Depending on the type of application, air velocity meters are made as hot wire air velocity meters or pocket weather air velocity meters, both of which can measure air velocity and air pressure. The results of measuring the air velocity can be stored in memory on the device (depending on the model). There are a total of 25 air velocity meters available. They are ideal for taking quick or constant measurements. Air Velocity Meters serve to measure wind velocity at the location of the device. The standard of measurement for wind velocity is at an altitude of 10m, as ground level wind velocity varies considerably for each different location. The measurement is taken according to the type of Air Velocity Meter, for example, thermal measurement (hot wire Air Velocity Meters), measurement by cooling a hot wire, mechanical measurement (side wheel Air Velocity Meters) or by pressure (Pitot tube Air Velocity Meters). The final method is by ultrasound. This class of Air Velocity Meters is currently too expensive in relation to it being cost effective for taking standard measurements. Many Air Velocity Meters display directly the reading on their display. This way complicated conversion calculations are integrated to allow for a margin of error to be determined for air current velocity or for continuous air flow. Please keep in mind that when using an Air Velocity Meters, the sensor (the side wheel, the hot wire probe, or the Pitot tube) is aimed towards the air current and above all that it is maintained in the direction of the flow of air. Ensure that the area is clear around the sensor the allow for the most accurate readings. Many Air Velocity Meters have direction arrows. Read the user's manual to ensure that the Air Velocity Meters is being used correctly, if it is not used properly, in the case of the side wheel Air Velocity Meters, there is a risk of damaging the sensor wheel if it is not facing the airflow correctly as the wheel functions in only one direction. When using the hot wire Air Velocity Meters, you must ensure that the air flow does not contain dust as the particles will impact with the sensor which is very sensitive. As the sensor is the most important part of the Air Velocity Meters, if it is damaged, the device will be useless. For this, use the side wheel Air Velocity Meters in light environmental conditions up to an air velocity of 5m/s. For greater velocities, it is recommended that you use the Pitot tube Air Velocity Meters as they are very accurate, durable and have a very high measurement range.
