Lux meters
Lux meters for measuring brightness in lux, fc
or cd/m². Some lux meters are equiped with internal memory
or
a
data logger to record the measurments. The measurment of
light intensity with these lux meters are, each day, becoming more important in the
workplace where protective screens are needed. The technique
of measuring enviromental conditions, to which the
measurement of light belongs, also
occupies a lead position in scale of importance. Lux meters
with data loggers as shown inour on-line store, are highly
regarded especially due to their cosine correction of the
angle of incident light. These lux meters have memory to
store measured values, and software to analyse readings. We
also offer a meter for measuring UVA radiation. Frequently
we are asked about conversion between different measurement
units. The following link contains information for:
conversion
of different measurment units for lux meters. If
you require more information, you can view our page
outlining typical illumination standards or
if you don't find the lux meters you are looking for, please
contact us and we will help you find the best solution to
suit your needs by calling our offices on:

The FNL (German institute of
Standards) has extensive information about measuring light in
the workplace. The commission for the standardisation of
technical lighting in DIN is concerned with the DIN standard in
respect to natural and artificial ultraviolet light, visible
light and infrared. The FNL
makes determination about the following areas: terminology,
basic visual requirements,
fotometrķa, all applications of interior and exterior
illumination and the photo biological effects of light and
radiation. |

Due to numerous requests relating to
the lux meters and measured brightness, we have formulated in a
table a series of accepted minimums that should be maintained
for different indoor situations or locations. In regards to the
outsdoors, substancally higher values are given, for example, 30,000 lux or
200,000 in sunlight. These values are for reference purposes
only and PCE Group does not guarantee their accuracy. |
