Gloss meters
At PCE Group you will find highly accurate digital gloss meters. These gloss meters measure colour and gloss to determine the surface characteristics of materials or components. They are easy to use, are compact and are solidly built. Gloss meters are specially designedprofessional gloss meters to take measurements on the spot or by the professional on the job and are highly valued by workers in technical services that must take test measurements offsite. These gloss meters can be used on smooth, treated or untreated, surfaces, such as stone, wood, laminants, floors, etc.

Principles of measurement of a gloss meter (IG series): Gloss is determined by measuring to reflection of light on a particular surface. This measurement takes into consideration the intensity of light reflected from a specific point onto a specimen surface.  According to this, the surface gloss reading of glass with the previously calculated coefficient of 1,567 must indicate the value relative to 100. A plate of black glass is used as the reference surface for calibration with a value of 90 for a measurement of 60° and 84 for a measurement of 20°. If you don't find the gloss meters you are looking for, please contact us and we will help you find the best solution to suit your needs by calling our offices on: +44 ( 0 ) 191 377 3398 and our technical staff will advise you regarding our measuring instruments.

InformGloss meters: Information about the meaurement of glossation about the measurement of gloss: Methods of measurement to determine the level of light intensity reflected from the surface of an object that you are analysing. The readings acquired under a predetermined angle provide comparative values that relate to the gloss of the surface. The measurement head is adjusted to specific reading angles (20º, 60º or 85º) and is placed on the surface of the material and the gloss value is shown in gloss units. These meters are indispensable as they are easy to calibrate and for the amount of data that can be obtained. The angle of measurement is predefined for the gloss of the object being measured.
