Power Meters At PCE Instruments you will find power meters to show the power in Watts or to analyse and measure harmonics. These power meters are multi-function devices that measure precisely continuous current, alternative current, the intensity of DC or AC and power in Watts. The reading of AC power is considered the real value and has a maximum range of 6000 Watts. While a reading is being taken, the polarity changes automatically, if negative values are taken then a minus sign will apear on the device display. Today, power meters have many features such as, insulated current input, measurement of harmonics, current measurement and power measurement. On our webpage you will find together with other power meters devices used in the field of electronics. If you can't find the power meters you are looking for, please contact us and we will help you find the best solution to suit your needs by calling our offices on: +44 (0)2380 987030 and our technical staff will advise you regarding our measuring instruments. Our engineers and technicians will be happy to help you with the power meters, and of course, with the other products in the field of regulation and control, and scales and balances. Useful information about power analysers: In the power measurements of voltage networks, power is the result of the formula P = U * I; which means the product of the voltage U and electric current I. In the case of measuring alternating current (ie line voltage of 50 Hz) a phase angle between current and voltage is generated. You should take it into account in measuring active power. Therefore, the power meter shows the combined measurement of electrical power, a tour of the voltage and current. The value P (active power) is equivalent, as described above, to the product of both values. In practice there are three different power classes:
- Apparent power S measured in W (wattt- amps) - Active power (and equivalent power) P measured as W (watts) - Reactive power as VAR (watt, amps and reagents)
