The GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2 proves to be a multifunctional solution for almost any task in areas of remote maintenance. Due to implementing 4 analogue, 4 digital and 4 temperature inputs as well as 4 outputs, the PCE-GPRS 2 with its GSM-GPRS module can be used for any task that includes data storage, remote controlling or automatic alerting. The data of the 4 potential-free contact-inputs of the GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2 are automatically sent to a server, in case an alarm is triggered or in accordance to the pre-set interval. A retrieval of the latest data, fed to the GPRS data logger by its inputs, can be performed either via text message or via GPRS. There is also the option of sending a text message to a maximum of 10 recipients as soon as an alarm is triggered. The same functions can be applied for the four analogue inputs (4...20 mA or 0 ... 5 V) of the GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2. In addition, the received data from the sensor can be automatically converted into a physical value. There can DS18B20 sensors be connected to the four temperature inputs of the GPRS data logger with a temperature range of -55...+125 °C. If thresholds are trespassed, the GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2 sends off an alarm. And in addition, data can be transferred to a server within a pre-set interval. The four open-collector outputs of the GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2 can be loaded with a maximum of 12 V / 500 mA and can be controlled by a set-up alarm, via telephone call or pre-set time interval. Their current state can be retrieved either by GPRS or by text message. The GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2 can be connected to a maximum of four servers that can be either a public permanent IP address or one with a dynamic DNS. The GPRS data logger PCE-GPRS 2 is delivered with either  a server software or a configuration software. Both softwares have a self-explanatory navigation and facilitate the set-up of all the parameters and alarm thresholds, as well as the data logging. The configuration can be also alternated afterwards by a text message. The internal 256 kB data storage of the GPRS data logger can store more than 1,000 values. Featuring an integrated rechargeable battery, the prevention of a data loss in case of a blackout is reassured.
