You can choose to power the scale via the mains (optional) or by batteries. They have a weight range up to 150 kg and a readability which goes from 0,001 to 50 g. School scales have a lot of  advantages such as: ease of use without additional explanations, taring range which helps to make recipes, etc. For example the PCE-BSH 6000 series school scales are very economical and very useful in the laboratory for the development and control of quality processes. They are very user-friendly due to a flat keyboard with just three keys, they also have a special protection against water splash. Additionally, ol the models of these scales posses taring range. School scales are used at Universities, University colleges, investigation organisations and also in private hospitals and formation centers. The adjoining image shows the use of school scales in the laboratory of the University of Ruhr in Bochym. School scales are normally under their usual prices owing to the wrong use causes frequent damages. At the top, you can find digital school scales which  have been specially designed for schools under harsh conditions with a good result guaranteed. The most of the school scales have a RS-232 interface which permits the data transfer both to a PC or to a printer. This function is very useful for the teaching field.
