More information on Oxygen Meters

Oxygen Meters
At PCE Instruments you will find a range of oxygen meters for water. There are oxygen meters for both pure oxygen content and for oxygen concentration in water available. Oxygen meters can be either water-proof, or equipped with an internal data storage or as a classic edition for laboratorial applications.  Most of our oxygen meters are handheld devices due to the fact that they are the most demanded chemical instruments for water analysis with a high accuracy and easy handling. Calibration of oxygen meters for water is very easy to perform (manual two-points calibration or automatic calibration), therefore even inexperienced users can learn to calibrate the instrument (mostly calibration by atmospheric air). For some of the oxygen meters there are long sensor cables purchasable, which might be convenient, if determining the oxygen content in deeper waters, such as a lake. Any of our oxygen meters can perform measurements depending on each industrial field disregarding the technical task. If you can't find the oxygen meters you are looking for, please contact us and we will help you find the best solution to suit your needs by calling our offices on: UK customers +44(0) 23 809 870 30 / US customers (561) 320-9162
and our technical staff will advise you regarding our measuring instruments. Our engineers and technicians will be happy to help you with the oxygen meters and of course, with all other products in the field of regulation and control, scales and balances.

Below you will find Oxygen Meters from the following companies.

Oxygen in water: Oxygen content in water is the concentration of oxygen dissolved in water. Most organisms require a minimum Oxygen Meters laboratories concentration of oxygen Oxygen Meters in sawages dissolved in water in order to survive. The oxygen dissolution in water depends on both, the temperature and the content of dissolved substances. A sinking temperature causes a better dissolution. The saturation value is at 0ºC is 14,6 mg O2/l and at 20 º  9,1 mg O2/l. The critical concentration in fish farming is under 4 mg O2. The content of oxygen in water is the result of the difference between oxygen consuming and producing sources. Oxygen comes from the atmosphere, it is important to keep in mind that the amount of oxygen will depend on the water surface, water temperature, saturation deficit, water turbulence and the air movement. Apart from their use in the industry, these oxygen meters are also important in the agriculture, horticulture and gardening. Oxygen is also released during photosynthesis in plants. On the other hand, oxygen is consumed during the natural decomposition of organic substances in water by means of the micro organisms activity, as well as animals and plants breathing. This fact can lead to an oxygen deficiency in water. Oxygen meters are also used in laboratories to determine a product's characteristics, when they are irrigated with different oxygen contents in water and to optimize the products characteristics. So, as you see, the use of oxygen meters is very important in many diverse sectors.
