Oxygen
meters
At PCE-Group you will find diverse oxygen meters for
water. There are available oxygen meters for both pure oxygen content and
for oxygen concentration. Oxygen meters have a water resistant design,
interface and internal data memory as well as the classical version for
laboratories. Most of our oxygen meters are hand devices due to the fact that
they are the most demanding chemical instruments for water analysis with a
high accuracy and easy to use. Calibration of oxygen
meters for water is very easy to perform (manual
two-points calibration or automatic calibration),
therefore even inexperienced customer can calibrate the
instrument. Any of our oxygen meters can perform
measurements depending on every industrial feel
independently the technical problem. If you don't find
the oxygen meters you are looking for, please contact us
and we will help you find the best solution to suit your
needs by calling our offices on: +44 ( 0 ) 191 377 3398 and our technical staff will advise you regarding our
measuring
instruments .

Oxygen in water: Oxygen content in water is the concentration of oxygen
dissolved in water. Most of the bodies need a minimum concentration of oxygen
dissolved in water to survive. The oxygen
dissolution in water depends on both the temperature and the content of dissolved
substances. A
rising temperature causes a better dissolution. The saturation value at 0ºC is 14,6 mg O2/l and at 20 º is
9,1 mg O2/l. The critical concentration in fish farming is under 4
mg O2. The content of oxygen in water is the result of the input
and consumption of oxygen. Oxygen comes from the atmosphere, it is important
to bear in mind that the amount of oxygen will depend on the water surface,
water temperature, saturation deficit, water turbulence and the air
movement. Apart from their use in the industry, these oxygen meters are also
important in the agriculture, horticulture and gardening. Oxygen is also
released during photosynthesis in plants. On the other hand, oxygen is
consumed during the natural decomposition of organic substances in water by
means of the micro organisms activity, as well as the animals and plants
breathing. This fact can lead to a oxygen deficiency in water. Oxygen meters
are also used in laboratories to discover a product properties when the are
irrigated with different oxygen content in water so as to maximize the
product properties. So, as you can understand, the use of oxygen meters is
very important in many diverse sectors. |
